Idea/suggestion for Scraper/emulationstation
-
Don't know how feasible or easy it would be, but could the ability be added to switch between multiple different types of images in the ui, e.g. press left/right trigger while browsing a system would switch the image from Boxart, to title screen, to ingame, to custom snapshot of the current selection and maybe get the scraper to support multiple image type downloads, instead of just one preferred type...
ALso, I haven't delved into theming yet, but how hard would it be to add more meta info, such as Rom name, number of times played, time played, etc.
If there's an existing suggestion/feature request forum/page, Please refer me to it.

I've been making my own theme based on the Pixel theme and this has been very helpful. Below is a list of all the metadata that can be displayed in your theme:
- rating
- release date
- developer
- publisher
- genre(s)
- number of players
- last played
- play count
As for the different images, I can't say for certain, but I think that's just something emulationstation wasn't designed to do.

Hey, this is the correct place for these kind of idea's, don't worry.
WRT your ideas (apart from the existing labels) , they would require alterations to the ES source code, which is not something that is developed or maintained by the RetroPie crew. There are some volunteers who like to dabble in ES a bit (myself included), so someone might pick up these hints at some point.
Just don't hold your breath.
In the meantime, to might be better off suggesting these things as 'issues' at Herdinger's ES fork. -
@Zigurana put em in your theme thread also, but used different words, y'know, for variety...
