      Hi all,

I am new to the whole Raspberry Pi and retro Pi scene and was hoping that someone might help me out. I have wrapped my head around putting a Raspberry Pi into the same "box" that the arcade stick is housed into, what I was wondering was if someone has built the main box that houses the Raspberry Pi separate of the arcade sticks. I love the idea of building an arcade cabinet but I simply don't have the room. I guess what I was thinking was doing a console-style Raspberry Pi but instead of controllers, have 4 arcade sticks separate. I am not sure if this makes sense, hahahaha.

Sorry if this repeats previous posts or it isn't in the right place to put this question, any help is greatly appreciated!!

      Thank you

There are quite a few forum posts with similar designs:

Not quite what I was thinking. Hmmm, I don't think I explained it quite right. Instead of a traditional arcade cabinet I was thinking of having a small raspberry Pi box that would live close to a tv all by it self. Then construct 4 seperate arcade sticks (again, as small as possible) that people could sit from a far (2-3 meters) and plug into the raspberry Pi. Is this possible? Would the arcade sticks have to be hard wired into the raspberry or would it be possible to plug and play?

I know that most of my questions have "kinda" been answered in the past but I have yet to see someone do exactly what I was hoping to do. Thank you for being patient with my freshness to ask if this!

          Thank you again!

I see - in this case your project is just a regular RetroPie box (any case would do) and connect 4 external fightstick controllers - via USB (possibly you'll need an USB hub to not bog all 4 USB ports on the Pi) or Bluetooth.
