Open TTD Port - latest version?
-
Hi everyone!
Since it's my first post, I'd like to thank and congratulate RetroPie crew for all efforts. Keep up the good work, guys! :)
I wanted to ask, is there a chance, that OTTD Port (available for download in Retropie) will be updated to latest version (1.9.2)? Current version is quite old (1.6.x) and I found no way to update it...
Regards!

The OpenTTD port uses the standard package distributed with Raspbian, which in turn gets it from Debian - https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=openttd. As you see, the version distributed in Rapbian Stretch is 1.6, the next version of Raspbian (Buster) contains an updated version (1.8). At this point though, Raspbian Buster is not fully supported in RetroPie, but that might change in the near future.

Thank you for the answer. However, 1.8 is still outdated and won't allow to play in multi, as most of servers are 1.9.2...
Sorry for noob question (I'm new to Linux), but do you think it's possible to compile 1.9.2 manually from source to work on RPi? I see, that official OTTD site has builds for Debian Stretch, but not for ARM chip... There's a guide for compiling for Debian:
https://wiki.openttd.org/Compiling_on_(GNU/)Linux_and_*BSD
I there a chance that this method will work on RPi?

You can install from source using the instructions for Debian, I don't think that would be a problem.

Instruction for Debian worked like a charm :) I didn't expected it to be so easy :) Thanks!
