      I made a new theme for Emulationstation and RetroPie.

      'Spare' theme - Get it from GitHub

      About

      I wanted to make a tutorial for how to make a theme, so I needed to create a simple theme. This theme is it.

      Spare is a simple clean theme used to show people the basics of theme creation for Emulationstation and RetroPie.

      This theme is based loosely on the default Carbon theme by Eric Hettervik (Rookervik), but all the XML was created from scratch.

      Tutorial

      The Tutorial is now part of the GitHub Wiki. You can find it here.

        Needs more room for description. Some of the games have real long description :P

          I like these clean look themes! They look good in my raspi1.

            True. The whole thing was made quickly for the Tutorial, and I basically designed it on the fly. Once I had the blocks in place I didn't really want to spend the time to change them.

            However, I am going to make an addition to the Tutorial about using different templates for different systems, so I'll do some redesigning then.

                I don't know. You'd have to ask @herb_fargus about that.

                Alternatively, you can download the .zip file from https://github.com/mattrixk/es-theme-spare and use SSH/FTP to move it over to the themes folder on your RPi.

                  @mattrixk

                  Added it to the repo!

                  Don't sweat it.
                  When in doubt, take a BYTE out of life.

                  😎
