@shavecat thanks, will that separate the games between dreamcast and NAOMI, or will they all be under the dreamcast umbrella?

So I managed to get some Atomiswave running (what an awesome system!!). I have a question though. Some of the games don't recognize controls when running. Is there a fix for this? I recall reading somewhere about deleing the eeprom.

Also, I am still unable to launch any NAOMI games, it just boots me back to the emulation station. What version of Bios did are you all using to launch? At the moment I have all the bios' in the bios/dc called naomia.zip. I'm using he MAME rom alpiltdx.zip. NV M figured it out

You mean the games with zillions of analog controls ? Make sure the game is mapped to controls that actually exist on your controller in "quick menu > controls", if that's not the issue then yeah, try deleting the eeprom.

@barbudreadmon I don't think its the analog control issue, as the coin and player select don't work either. I deleted the eeprom and a game booted, but I couldn't get past the service menu, even with a keyboard plugged.

Such a fun machine though, so I will keep persevering.

@Krakatoa Searching here will help, specifically here.

Any games in particular you can mention? I tried a few and they worked well, only a few had real input challenges but they were surmountable.

I find that some games actually crash after some runs on load, and deleting the eeprom fixes it - Metal Slug 6 and Samurai Shodown 6 being the main ones that come to mind, but probably others will have the same issue.

@pjft Thanks, yeah the one in particular was Faster than Speed. It booted up fine, but none of the controls worked

@Krakatoa Haven't tried it, apologies. It shows as running OK on the compatibility list.

From the search I shared :)

@Krakatoa In my case it works on my Dualshock 3 controller. Analog sticks for steering, though, can't have them on the dpad.

That's one of the games that came to mind when talking about games needing a bit of remapping, and tbh i don't expect it to be playable on keyboard anyway (requires 3 analog axis).

@barbudreadmon I'm hoping to map it my arcade sticks, with six buttons. If not I can my my USB Nintendo controller.

Well, good luck with remapping then, but as i said it's using 3 analog axis, arcade sticks have none.

@barbudreadmon Good point, I will probably have better luck with my nintendo64 controller.

@barbudreadmon yes I enabled them thanks, but it wants me to use l3 and r3 which I don't have on my system. That's why I was wondering if you could access it ca the keyboard.

@Krakatoa You can change them in the RetroArch menu, even if temporarily.

@shavecat The service menu is the Naomi service/Atomiswave menu. You need to set it to something other then R3 and L3 within the control in the retroarch menu. Reboot and then press the service button on boot. When you see the Naomi/Atomiswave screen.

To navigate the service menu use the buttons you assigned to service/test buttons
