Tough Pi kickstarter campaign
-
I have launched a Kickstarter campaign to bring a Raspberry Pi Tough case to the users. The case houses a 7 inch display and all USB, GPIO, Analog audio out, Micro SD and Ethernet can be accessed from the case top. All brackets are 3D printed with ABS and all the facades are made from 3mm laser cut acrylic. The case is both Pi 2 and Pi 3 compatible and is named the Tough Pi. There are varying rewards from a bare prototyping case just fit your Pi and provide power, to a complete solution with power supply and mini keyboard. Please check it out and post any feedback, I'm happy to answer questions.

That looks pretty cool.

That's really cool @Toughpi
Does the mini keyboard detach from the case? And is it bluetooth or wireless (using a USB dongle)? Does the keyboard snap in place but if you needed it closer to you, you could detach it?
Also with the battery or hard drive idea, it would be nice if the end user could just swap those out as needed. Maybe sell it with the battery but it can slide out and a SATA laptop hard drive can slide into its place. I'm just thinking out loud.
Still I really like the idea of this!

@backstander
The keyboard just sits in the case top, so yes it is removable. It is a wireless mini keyboard with usb dongle, it doesnt ship with a battery so the user can fit there own battery as long as it fits in the compartment. Thanks for the feedback. -
