[ES Theme] OmegaDrive (updated to v 1.4)
-
that theme is awesome, do you plan to add AMSTRAD CPC 464 (green screen) support?
-
Damn @Arcanthur ... The BEST theme ever made, looks AMAZING, congrats, great work !!! (tested on Retropie, Batocera and Recalbox, in this last two systems with some minor modifications and all OK), some ideas.
Can you make a generic bezel based on this theme? (I have a Sony Trinitron bezel for all systems, but with a bezel based on this theme, the entire system will more visually consistent), and a theme based ES loading screen and game loading screen will be excellent too!
I miss Atari 8-bit and MSX computer systems, but i understand that is work in progress.
-
I will have to use this on my new pi4 build. Got it in one of those new nespi4 cases. Great work!
-
I know that is a WIP, but I miss some iconic vintage microcomputer systems: Atari 8-bit and MSX (1 and 2)
-
Love this, thanks for all the time you spent getting it to us. Your attention to detail is AMAZING.
As for development, i would like to suggest/request support for custom collections, and also for "Daphne".
-
@claudiomet Thanks!, I'll be working on those things (bezels and loading screens) after the theme is done.
-
CHANGELOG 1.4

- Apple II
- Amstrad CPC 464

- Microsoft MS-DOS
-
@gomisensei Thanks, Daphne will be in the next update. I'll work on collections after I finish all the main systems.
-
Very cool @Arcanthur , did you have a chance to check the sample I sent you?
-
@GeekOB Hey, yeah I did. I decided to take those systems in a different direction. I appreciate your work and offer though! :)
-
Understood @Arcanthur. Can't wait to see your theme finished, it's looking great!
-
Anyone had this issue? I can select theme 'OMEGADRIVE-MASTER' but it's just a super basic default theme with no assets loaded in...
-
@sad_muso Are you on a Raspberry Pi?
-
@sad_muso What version of EmulationStation are you running?
-
@Arcanthur @HurricaneFan Yep, on Raspberry Pi. I needed to update everything and it's now working beautifully!
-
I really need this theme in my life! It is so awesome and exactly what I was browsing for. But I do no see it in the ES theme repository options and the readme on the Github does not seem to explain how to install it, I'm new to retropie... but I am in love with this theme looking at the pictures, please, how do I install this masterpiece?
-
@90sNostalgia Download the theme using the Code button from the Github repository, as a
.zip
file, then unpack it and place the result in\\retropie\configs\all\emulationstation\themes
. If the folder mentioned (themes
) doesn't exist, create it first, the copy the unzipped folder to it. You can then choose this theme from EmulationStation's menu. -

\retropie\configs\all\emulationstation\themes
Thank you, but since I am using the automount to USB flash storage, the additional retropie package feature to get away from the SD card....
I used this instead after some research/opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/ makedir themes cd themes git clone https://github.com/Arcanthur/OmegaDrive
And it worked beautifully! I had to ofc change vram for ES beforehand.
do I need to run something like
git pull origin master --rebase
in that parent folder (themes) every time I need to have the theme update?

Yes, should work, though not from the parent folder, but from the theme folder itself.

Thanks for sharing your theme, wonderful looking theme.
How do i change the theme xml to go straight to video and not display boxart for a few secs in video window instead just keep boxart to the left boxart window.
I found the tags for delay and changed to 0 secs but i see a black screen still for a split second. Im not sure if thats a setting or pi4 not quick enough.
thanks
Sim
