PowerBlock and Raspberry Pi 400 - cannot boot Pi 400
-
I purchased a PowerBlock to try to setup an external power button for my Pi 400. I ran the install scripts. I've been able to shut down the Pi 400 by shorting the "switch" pins.
When I connect my USB-C power to the PowerBlock (not directly to the Pi 400), I cannot start the Pi 400. Pressing Fn + Pi + F10 (power) does not work, nor does shorting the "switch" pins.
Below is an image of how I connected the PowerBlock to the Pi 400. Note that Pin 1 is in the top-right of the GPIO header in the image.
Has anybody successfully got the PowerBlock working with Pi 400? Is it possible?
My config:
Pi Model or other hardware: Pi 400
Power Supply used: Cana Kit USB-C (DCAR-RSP-3A5C) with 5.1V and 3.5A output
RetroPie Version Used: 4.7.1
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website -
Based on information provided in another post, it appears that PowerBlock is not compatible with Pi 400.
Info from other post: "The PowerBlock provides power to the GPIO pins 2 and 4 switched via a power switch IC.
The Pi 400, though, cannot be powered via it's GPIO pins, see https://www.hackster.io/news/raspberry-pi-400-design-change-puts-an-end-to-battery-power-gpio-add-on-boards-770826a23ed9.".
