I think I had played an old bomberman game on the NES, but the one I spent the most time on is Super Bomberman (SNES) with the multitap. It is definitely a game best played with as many players as possible for maximum chaos.

i totally agree: when it is about local Multiplayer-Games for more than 2 players than it is Bomberman and MarioKart!

@mitu: nice to hear that you are also hunting for achievements! Now i have a goal to reach...i love the NG-Bomberman also very much!

Also great and also supporting Retro-Achievements: "Bomberman Party-Edition" (PS1).

@DTEAM On RetroPie, Mega Bomberman (a port of Bomberman' 94 from the TurboGrafx)

Then why not the TurboGrafx/PCE version itself? According to Wikipedia, it has more multiplayer options than Mega Bomberman.

(Just curious, I don't know either of them in detail.)

I actually played them both, but for me the music sounds better in the MD port. But, enough with the Bomberman side-topic, I don't want to derail the main topic.

Yeah, back to topic: My last game played was Blazing Star for the Neo Geo in MVS mode. As a more casual SHMUP player, I like its relatively flat difficulty curve. In my first few tries, I actually beat the first two bosses with only one credit before I succumbed to the bullet hell that followed in the next level. But even that seems manageble with some practice and a handful more credits.

The awesome graphics and sound as well as the multiple selectable craft which actually play very differently give the game a very high replay factor.

Alas, the pandemic prohibits testing the 2P co-op mode at the moment, but hopefully that's only a matter of time.

                Panzer Dragoon II Zwei
                Score 9/10
                Emulator : Lr-yabasanshiro (SEGA Saturn) pi4

Good game! Short but fun. For people who like short games like arcade games this is for you. Excellent emulation with Lr-yabasanshiro. Some sound issues when recording and reloading more than 10 times in a chapter. The sound come back on the next chapter. Really impressive 3D game for a mid 90's game.

                  The Tick (SNES)

                  Score: 2/10

Frustrating gameplay, game is too long and repetitive with no real story. Music is kinda dope though.
                  But overall = 👎

I finish recently the Golden Sun (Gameboy Advance).

                      Εmulator: lr-mgba

It was a very good jrpg. The story isn't so deep but the gameplay mechanics are very interesting and fun. (9/10)

                        9/10
Not popular on retropie, but I really enjoy these like early 2010s lego games, even if it wasn't what I built my bartop for. I never had consoles or handhelds as a kid, so this is the next best thing. The cutscenes' graphics can be super janky sometimes, but otherwise it runs really well. The only annoying thing is that the drastic menu randomly pops up, and I need to use a keyboard to exit it. I could try a software update for the emulator to fix that.

                        10/10
Other than it being really hard for me, it runs perfectly. Hopefully those commandos can stop being blown up when rescuring captured rebels.

It's hard to beat Voldermort with a mouse. The mouse doesn't emulate a finger well at all, so there is one level at the end of the game I cannot beat, at least without doing something cheaty like reducing the game speed.

Flashback on the Megadrive. It's the best version of the game but I've only played that and the Mega CD version which adds unnecessary music and voice work. It's a great looking game way ahead of its time

                              Espgaluda (the fist one)

I've always been a bit too intimidated by the look of bullet hell shooters so have only recently got into them.

I really like this one, more than DoDonPachi, the music is great and it feels great to play. It's pretty hard I only get to Lvl 3 so far (without continue).

                              9/10 (for the Genre)
