There are maybe better places to ask for something that’s not a Pi, but I give it a go.

My pi4 runs most emulators great and I’m very happy with it in general, but then you start to think what more there is to emulate, like GameCube and wii. I will probably never be fully done with finding new projects :)

I know I can’t expect that it runs well on the pi and have searched for a affordable solution but I’m still looking. I’ve been thinking about a NUC, but then I have also read that you need a modern cpu and gpu to get dolphin to run with decent performance and that makes it very expensive.

I’m not looking for a flawless solution in high res. But I would like a stutter free experience in a small format like NUC, Mac mini etc that doesn’t cost a fortune. 1080p would be awesome but I guess 720p is ok as well. Buying used is fine :)

Anyone that came across something that fits the description?

@stuffu I have an 8th Gen NUC that runs Dolphin well.

        Currently running:
Retropie 4.8.9 on a Pi Zero 2W (Overclock Settings: CPU 1400Mhz)
        ES-DE on a GMKtec K6 (Windows 11, 32GB RAM)

@stuffu Get a first gen Wii (one with gamecube controller ports) - super cheap, easy fun to mod and runs ~98% of games flawlessly
I think mine looks good with just a cheap HDMI convertor but i'm sure there are upscalers available
checkout some vids on youtube for WiiFlow

@stuffu Yes. Only the Rogue Squadron games give me any trouble. I can run most other games at 1440p

              Currently running:
Retropie 4.8.9 on a Pi Zero 2W (Overclock Settings: CPU 1400Mhz)
              ES-DE on a GMKtec K6 (Windows 11, 32GB RAM)
