I am a huge Undertale fan, and I was wondering if I could port it to RetroPie. There is an official Linux release now (https://twitter.com/UnderTale/status/754657063318454272) and maybe I could replace the YoYo Games runner that comes with it, with one of the runners from the GameMaker games already ported (http://www.yoyogames.com/pi)...

(To clarify, a YoYo Games runner is the executable created for GameMaker games. On Linux these runners are universal so you can swap a runner from another game and nothing will be different.)

      Don't sweat it.

Hopefully, someone can test out my theory because I am not able to install Ubuntu on my flash drive at this time...

Were you able to install it?

I installed Ubuntu on my flash drive for my main PC and got the Linux version of Undertale from Steam.

I got it to run on the Raspberry Pi with the OpenGL driver enabled, but there is not enough RAM in the little thing to be able to play it... (just to clarify, I ran it and I was met with a white screen because there is not enough RAM and it closed, but there were no errors when I looked in the terminal.)

But hopefully one day, the Pi Foundation will make a new RPI with 2GB RAM and a 2GHz ARM processor!

Is the 2GB Ram 2GHz minimum requirement set by Gamemaker? COuldn't there be a "lighter" versions?

No, that is the minimum requirements set by GameMaker and Toby Fox...
Also no, you can not make lighter versions.

Sadly, Toby Fox did not release the source code in any way so I can not make the game lighter on the resources and make shaders compatible with OpenGLES. :(
