This is an amazing tool! Thank you for the work. I had been trying to work through several others and there were always gaps but this is clean and very straight forward.

One question, is there a way to merge Gamelists? I have several that have descriptions in them and it would be great if I could merge their descriptions in with the hyperspin list this creates.

      Thanks again!

Thank you for this software. It works great to identify missing artwork. In a perfect world it would run on a raspberry pi too, but it was easy enough to; copy my roms folder over to a window PC, do the scanning in windows, and go back to my rPi to fix any issues the tool uncovered. Kudos.

Sorry for necroing this, I have been trying to find a similar program for weeks.
This one is near perfect, the only issue is that the naming conventions of Retrobat are a little different.

I had hoped it was something that could be changed in settings files, but alas it wasn't.

Wondering if the original author or someone else could modify it so you could also set by variables the tags used in the game list.

So like how now it automatically puts MarqueeFolder as <marquee> and VideoFolder as <video> Etc, if you could set a variable for that in the same window where you pick the folder.

In Retrobat for instance, it uses different tags like <fanart> and <thumbnail> and <images>. It also has more than 4 arts, so if a fifth could be added that would be super helpful.

The ones I use are image, video, marquee, thumbnail, fanart (this is how they are generated in Skraper)

I wish I could program I would do this myself. I would have it so you have a variable for the folder and the tag you want to use so it would say for instance:

                      Media Folder: _____
Video Folder: _____ Video Tag: ______
Marquee Folder: ______ Marquee Tag: _____
                      Etc

Long shot but I am at whits end so figured I would give it a go. Maybe there's already a newer tool that does this, but I had no luck.

Have you tried using ARRM ? It should have better support for RetroBat.

@mitu Oh man did I try for hours. That program is so confusing and I could never get it to recognize the art I already had in folders and with the proper tags. It is obviously a well thought out and detailed program, but it's UI is sloppy and it's really confusing to understand most the stuff in it.

I did figure out how to read a directory and generate a gamelist and also scrape images, but they were never named or tagged the way I wanted or needed them to be.

What I have resorted to doing is using Skraper and then just using bulkrename to add -image, -video, -fanart Etc to my art then putting them all in one images folder.

Then I re-scrape inside Retro and let it find that all the art is there, and then recreate the gamelist with the tags.

It's a bit tedious but I guess it works aight.
