Joystick memories - Quickshot

Remember the Quickshot? Why it’s worth rediscovering the joy of joysticks
"The suction-padded joystick was once the games controller sans pareil until it was usurped by the multi-button joypad – but with the return of retro gaming, it’s making a comeback"

I had a green Powerplay Cruiser back in the day. I do like to get dedicated controllers for my emulators where i can, though I have a preference for wireless ones.

Well, and I preferred the quickshot II turbo, for Games like Elite or any Flightsim having the joystick fixed on the desk and the other hand free for the keyboard was a must (IMHO) [and playing conqueror on the amiga with two of 'em felt just great!]. Besides that, the competition pro was my fallback for decathlon/hyper sports kind of games ;].

@Ashpool I would take the suckers off mine. I didn't play flight sims and they were a PITA when you were holding it,

@Floob Oh man, that name alone brings back memories! I had one of these to play X-wing on DOS:

@Floob I recently bought both the Quickshot and Quickshot II as I also owned them in the 80s. I have yet to buy a db9 to USB adapter for my C64 Maxi, but I will someday. Truthfully, its the only way to really play the old games like they were back in the day.
I love The C64 Maxi and having both my old joysticks to pair up with it is great.

We, meaning my brother and I, often used the Tac-2 which he had customized a bit as he was a bit of a electronic tinkerer even back then.
He had added an auto fire and a switch that froze the Amiga's clock thereby freezing the CPU and the full computer like an OP pause button.
We also used a 'bug' joystick which was nice, clicky and functional but I can't remember developing a loving relationship with that one, (who would with an insect?) THe Tac-2 wasn't really a good joystick it was a bit stiff to use its main redeeming aspect was that it was extremely sturdy. And looked pretty cool.
