Grid Style for Console Select

Is there any reference out there of someone making a grid layout for the system select screen? I was wondering if I could make a theme paying tribute to the Wii/Wii U/DS/3DS families, as I think it would look astonishing. Oh, and is there any way to get a mouse or Wii remote to use the cursor to pick a system? That would truly give it that chef's kiss that it would so desperately need…
