What is the worst thing that could happen if you just made a retro pie distribution I've seen third-party people do it without any problems the worst thing is they tell you know and you need to change the name just release it I don't think it's going to be a problem

Why not call it RetroPC or RetroX86 following the same schema as RetroPie?

@vbs that's what I was saying, if name change is warranted, but the information I've been reading says that you can do it without any problems just call it retro pie x86, or something

Re-branding this distribution completely isn't the worst idea in the world. Having RetroPie in the name when there is no Pi doesn't make a whole lot of sense to begin with. Kodi wasn't intrinsically a better name than XBMC, but at least it finally represented the progression from being a media center exclusive to the XBox. Also, the re-branding of RaspBMC to OSMC only made sense when the team's focus shifted to a variety of hardware. Personally, I like the name RetrOS, but my vote probably shouldn't count, as I'm not looking to move away from my Pi setup anytime soon.

Sweet, I can't wait to try it out. I can make a few videos of it running when it's done . [removed references to youtube channel that now promotes piracy]

Here's a great example of another distribution built on retro pie but calling itself something else

@LinuxArcadeGuy I think calling it a distribution is stretching it. Thats me installing Attract Mode on top of RetroPie so people can experiment with a different front end. Its basically vanilla RetroPie with a different FE. Its not supported or maintained, so very much a demonstration rather than something that is suggested a distribution. The only name I have given it is "RetroPie with Attract Mode".

@meleu @Devil78 maybe you should call it Retro PixelOS? Otherwise someone may get angry because it already exists

I working on it. New name, new logos, new platform, (X86-32bit not supported before), retropie 4.1.4. And, i hope, Emulation Station with multi language support.
