@Rookervik Maybe it would be best to continue in the thread I linked instead of derailing this theme thread, but I'm not so sure the Pi boots in 4:3 when using the 3.5mm AV cables. I sadly don't have my monitor around to take a picture, but just to give an idea, it feels like emulationstation is displayed in 16:9 (even on the CRT) and the games are in 4:3.

That means the games look fine, but the menu gets cutoff
I can try to mess around with the overscan so that I can see the whole menu, but then the picture of the games get squeezed horizontally.

That did work but it zooms into centre of screen and not into the top right corner.

            Hey guys,

I added a set of SG-1000 roms, but can't see them. Is it on this theme systems ?

            Amazing theme BTW. Thank you!

@Rookervik can I modify your theme to make it compatible with video support (ES @fieldofcows fork) and upload here for you so you can add that version in your first post?

@Nismo That sounds fine. Thanks for asking. There are too many forks of ES right now, so I wouldn't be able to convert every theme for every fork available. Especially since I screw up my copy of RetroPie so easily. I'd never be able to install a different ES without totally botching my setup. :D

Pixel supports sg-1000. You probably need to install an emulator for that system. RetroPie has been stripped down to only the most popular systems. The rest you must install separately.

So you mean that I have your permission to upload here a version compatible with ES video?

Yeah that's fine. You've made ES with video previews for Windows?

@Rookervik You can update yourself the Pixel video theme easily to add new systems, only need to follow this simple steps:

                          • Don't modify video view in pixel.xml.
                          • In the theme.xml for a system, instead of use <view name="detailed"> use <view name="detailed, video">
                          • In the theme.xml for a system, instead of use <image name="background" extra="true"> in <view name="detailed, video"> use <image name="background"> or <image name="background" extra="false">

That's all. Thanks for the theme and for give me permission to adapt it to ES with video preview support by @fieldofcows.

                          Regards.

PD: I'll upload a video this evening so you can see the result, i can't do it now because i'm a little bit busy.

Also take a look at my theme for ES with video support, it's WIP that's because i didn't open a thread about it yet.

Without system view sound but you can see gamelist changing games and tv effects.

With system view sounds and new system dreamcast:

                          New system Game boy:

@Rookervik I forgot to add sounds for system change and gamelist, if you want i can upload a new version with sounds added quickly, and then you can change the wav files inside art folder for whatever you want, you tell me.

I forgot to say that if somebody doesn't want or doesn't like "marquees" (wheel art) simply don't add the marquues or rename marquees folder to other name like no_marquees. You will see this later in the video.

@Nismo, you might want to leave out the system change sound for now - this change is not included in the PR I've submitted to the RetroiPie ES. I'll submit that as a separate request later. Does the tag get ignored if ES doesn't support it?

@fieldofcows no problem i'll wait then. But at least moving on gamelist sound it's already implemented.

@ebtalk I don't know because i didn't take a look at metapixel code, but pixel theme takes to me about 45 min to make the changes to have video working...

                                          Merry christmas.

I'm working on a fairly decent update to pixel. Working my way through the logo graphics right now. I'll get video previews incorporated when I release the update.
