I've even had to have a look at ET, boy is that something else!
The game's creator (Howard Scott Warshaw) has a great sense of humor about the whole thing. Having also created 'Yar's Revenge', which is known to be one of the best games on the 2600, he often jokes about having the widest range of any game developer out there.
The best synopsis of the whole E.T. phenomenon has to be this segment from 'The Video Game Years'.

@mediamogul In the end ET carts where found. Atari did actually bury these in New Mexico desert ! Crazy story.
Merry Xmas to everybody.

Crazy story.
So crazy, you'd have to make it up if it weren't true. Alongside the documentary from Xbox Entertainment Studios, James Rolfe also made a highly fictionalized feature film based on a race to uncover the extraterrestrial truth behind the burial in ''Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie". He even gives his long-awaited review of the game during the end credits. It's unbelievably impressive for an independent Sci-Fi film.

fun video focused on the cheetahmen

@mediamogul i am probably going to mostly use the instructions to make a lego nes (not for the pi or anything else) with a controller and cartridge.

That is a great video. I love 'The Game Chasers'. It's like 'American Pickers' for retro games.
That sounds great. Be sure to look at the black climbing rope pieces. They'd make perfect controller cords. If you do end up building it, I'd love to see some pics.
-
@mediamogul definitely. Thanks for the cord tip. I was trying to think of how i was going to do it.
-
I ordered the pieces for the Lego Case from Lego today. Looking forward to see how it turns out.
-
Fantastic! I'd love to see pics of it in use if you happen to get a chance.
-
@mediamogul definitely. The 100+ pieces should be here in a couple weeks. I'll either build it or pawn it off to my nephew as a cheap excuse for him to do something "for fun" that's actually for me.
-
Got the lego parts today. Build it asap looks great, but I think I will reinforce it with some superglue.pics will follow.

A builder's best friend. I look forward to seeing the pics.
-
Her are some pictures of the case.
-
@bense2k cool!
-
Very cool indeed.
My set got lost in transit, so Lego is express shipping me another. I'm glad to see that it builds and holds the Pi so nicely.
-
I ordered mine on the 28th and my order still has status of "In Warehouse".
-
I don't know what their deal is. I've talked with some people who got their order within three days and others who had to wait three weeks. You'd think this sort of distribution problem wouldn't exist at a company the size of LEGO.
-
@mediamogul
I just picture in my head, 2 or 3 warehouse employees with flashlights looking in random boxes on shelves looking for just 1 piece at a time. -
I finally received my Legos yesterday! Took almost a month to get to me (ordered: Dec. 28th 2016 and arrived: Jan. 21st 2017). I could say I ordered them last year and finally got them this year!
Anyways I'm happy with how they turned out and I was a little bit anxious putting them together and wondered if I would be missing a piece or I ordered something wrong but to my relief I had the exact blocks needed to build this!
Here are the pictures:

Hey, looks great! My order came in sometime last week, but it was promised to a friend, so I don't know if all the pieces were accounted for. Even though it came all the way from Denmark, a little over a month and a half for delivery surprised me from a company as big as LEGO. All's well that ends well though.
