Can anyone recommend any small screen in 4:3 format I can fit into Gameboy case, easily connect to the Pi Zero and power it from the battery? Project would be used for simple Atari/NES emulation.

I used this screen I found on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/BW-3-5-Inch-Monitor-Automobile/dp/B0045IIZKU?ie=UTF8&keywords=BW 3.5 Inch TFT LCD Monitor for Car&qid=1462778853&ref_=sr_1_1&s=electronics&sr=1-1

It works great. You can hook it up by soldering to the PiZero TV pins and then, even tho the TV says DC12v, it will easily run from a solid DC5v current. No problem at all. Works great for me.

It's not pixel-perfect like a HDMI screen, or TFT screen, but it's 1/8th the price of HDMI, and way faster refresh than a TFT screen. :D
