I don't know if everyone already noticed this but today's free eBook is "Raspberry Pi Projects for Kids"
https://www.packtpub.com/packt/offers/free-learningI just browsed this eBook and noticed chapter 2 shows you how to make an Angry Birds clone using Scratch.
-
Thanks for this @backstander, I keep forgetting to check the site.
-
This is odd. 15 hours ago @backstander told us the current free book was "Raspberry Pi Projects for Kids". When I got it 7 hours ago, it said there was 40 minutes left. Now, I'm looking to see what the new book is, and it says it's still "Raspberry Pi Projects for Kids" and that it has 18 hours left. Something seems dodgy.

@mattrixk
I've seem some odd counter issues on this site as well. I've also seen on the free eBook history list below where it will show the wrong book for yesterday's free book but then the next day that book will be the current free eBook lol.Today's eBook is "Learning Java Functional Programming". Not sure if there's any Raspberry Pi relevant information in this book but you can develop Java programs on it.
-
For those interested, today's new book is "Expert Python Programming". You can get it here.
-
Today's free ebook is "Node.js Design Patterns".
-
Today's free eBook is "Advanced Penetration Testing for Highly-Secured Environments - Second Edition"
https://www.packtpub.com/packt/offers/free-learningNow you'll be able to test how secure your Raspberry Pi build really is!

Let's be honest: How many of you change the
pi
user's password?! LoL :) -
"Python Machine Learning" is the free eBook today:

@backstander I'm sad I missed the "WordPress 4.x Complete" book from a couple of days ago, but it was Saturday and I only check that site when I'm at work.

Hopefully you can catch it the next time it comes around!
but it was Saturday and I only check that site when I'm at work.
Same with me. I usually forget to check it over the weekend but for some reason I decided to check it today from home.
-
@backstander It's Monday for me, nearly lunch time too. Left over lasagne, yummy.
-
Today's book is "Learning C++ by Creating Games with UE4".
-
Today's book is "Android Programming for Beginners".

There should really be an email alert by then over their free learning books. :)
Thanks for the recommendation - I had registered on this site two weeks ago for the Pi projects for kids, but forget to check it every day.
-
@pjft It ticks over to the next book about an hour after I get to work, so I generally check it near the beginning of the 24 hour cycle, and if it's something I find interesting, or I think is even slightly relevant to this forum, I post the title. I only do it Mon-Fri, because I forget to check it when I'm not at work.

Today's ebook: "OpenCV Computer Vision with Python".
OpenCV is an open source computer vision and machine learning software library that provides a common infrastructure for computer vision applications. Today's free eBook has practical, project-based tutorials for Python developers and hobbyists who want to get started with computer vision with the OpenCV library and Python. If you have always wanted to learn which version of the Python bindings for OpenCV to use, how to integrate with cross-platform Kinect drivers, and how to efficiently process image data with NumPy and SciPy, then this book is for you!
I don't know what that is, but someone here might find it interesting.
-
Thanks! Should be good if you want to do something with a camera on the Pi, with Python!
-
@mattrixk with a camera, OpenCV and proper coding skills you can, for example, make your pi automatically load Super Mario Bros. when you show your face with a big fake mustache to the camera. Or Legend of Zelda when you are wearing a green cap. :-)
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
