ahh i see no worries.. i have a full hyperspin setup with all most systems and roms 16tb. But i really like emulator station and your theme is amazing.. im just cherry picking my favourite systems and favourite games so its alot easier to navigate my collection. Ahh yes with pc you can have awesome graphics with the dolphin emulator for gamecube and wii.. Please dont forget about your pc fans who also love your theme, there are a few of us ;)

The Snes are really not nice :( because of the box orientation :'( need to find something nicer for that ;) but I prefere to have a unique and adaptative MIX for all systems instead of a dedicated MIX by system :S

@screech those look really nice! If you switch to detailed view you can avoid showing the same image twice (it should only show in the large black box. Nice work

Edit: I don't mind the SNES based on the box, what if the background image was removed and it was the simpler background like in the game it and nes? Any thoughts on arcade? I use your arcade machine with the game screenshot on the screen and the wheel art, wondering how you might incorporate that?

I made some "new" arrengement ^^
I kicked the "sun" background (But I can keep it in case of no Screenshot ;) )
And full Screenshot in back, with 3D Box and Logo over a Comic Bubble.
On top of that, a "comics" overlay...

We can play with the Z position of the overlay, so this is some render :

For Arcade machine, you've got 2 type :
Neogeo (who can have a cover) :

The only thing isn't "so nice" is the Image Size :
Theme Resize the image to fit a square, but this square seems "too small" for me...
If it can be a little bigger so the black border can be thiner "like other strip case" ;)

Did you resize the image in your last screenshot in the theme or photoshop? If in the theme, what values did you use for max size?

Edit: also I prefer the comic overlay to be only over the screenshot. I like the crisp clear logo and box over the top of the "comic" overlay.

I resize under photoshop ;) but I think I will make some test to modify your theme ( only the image size and position ;)

About overlay, I were thinking like you, at first ^^
But with some try on full overlay and your theme, I think it's "smoother" on the eye ^^ it's like the MIX isn't just "added" but a part of the theme (like the resized one at the end)... In all case, it's easy to modify or to create both ^^ (just changing the place of the overlay in the Profil ;) )

If you have some Comics bubble or better overlay don't hesitate to propose ^^ these one are "quickly" done and catch over internet ;) And I'm at the very begining of thinking about the MIX ;)

@screech I was viewing on my phone before, i am not on my computer and agree with you on the overlay, it looks better over the entire thing. Can you try to make the dot overlay a little smaller dot?

I am not able to work on my pi right now, but i will look at increasing the max size a bit. I might suggest we meet in the middle, i will increase it some, but not as much as you show. I like the black border for the videos, the videos feel better to me with a nice border around them.

I also like the bubble you are using alot! The only one that looks off is Chrono Trigger, but there will probably always be a few that look off no matter what color or design is used.

Awesome work and theme, a really nice theme for a RetroBox.
But, as a French guy, I find it unusable because the font used doesn't come with accentued letters (like éàèù)
So when I scrap everything in French from screenzone, I got missing letters :(

But keep up the great work ! :)

little help with dolphin playing though ES guys.. i can use dolphin playing games fine outside of ES , so i just copy pasted my dolphin folder into systems folder. when i try and play a game in ES either gc or wii i get this error messgae !

@adu in the art folder of the theme there are 2 font types. Shaka-pow and cabin bold (or something like that). Rename cabin bold font to match Shaka-pow exactly and delete the original shaka-pow font. Restart emulationstation. This will update the font to match the font in the carbon theme which should work for you.

Hi. I might be able to add those accent characters to the font if you'd like. Some may have to be just duplicates of the ordinary letter without the accent but it's better than not displaying at all.

Edit: I just looked at the font in fontforge and as far as I can tell the accent characters are there - at least the capital letter versions are anyway. You're forcing uppercase in the gamelist so not sure why they wouldn't display.

No problem, I just compared it to the font on my theme and there are quite a few missing actually, I'm not sure why but there always seems to be lots of accent character that appear to be duplicates in fonts (I'm sure there is a reason I just don't know enough about fonts to know why).

I'm happy to have a look at adding these missing characters for you, it should be a simple case of copying and pasting the missing characters.

It's an "emulationstation" problem ;) when ES uppercase, he can't manage accents... Don't know why...
That's why there is an "option" in UXS to uppercase at scrape "before" ES try ^^ and it works ;) (Uppercase accent character...)
