I don't believe so. The video will need to run until the end, unless someone has put together a script that kills OMX Player (which is used to show the video) on the press of the button.

Thank you,. This is also my go to theme and splash screen.
Only thing I would change it for is early TMNT theme. Which to be honest is rattling around my head but I will not try untill I have my set up all ready.

@TMNTturtlguy I'm late to the party, but I've just installed this and your comic book theme and I just wanted to say they're brilliant. I'm just wondering will you be making a 4:3 ratio version of the video? I ask because I see from your other posts that you have a 4:3 setup, and the comic book theme has a 4:3 version? No problem if not. Thanks again!

@pedropod thanks for the kind words! The video splash screen should play on your 4:3 format. It just will have black bars at the top and bottom. I have no plans to recreate this in 4:3 format. I have been extremely busy with work and family the last month and have had no time for development. My next goal is to release launching screens, and I want to start a new theme for a TMNT bartop I built. Let me know if you can get the splash screen to run on your 4:3.

              Thanks

@tmntturtlguy It is working but it doesn't fully cover the "loading..." text which can be seen as the system boots up, and then before the video has finished playing it finishes loading and you can see the top and bottom of your theme while the video is still playing. Not to worry, I might have a go at adding in black bars to make the video 4:3 so it covers these things. Once again, brilliant work on both the theme and the video :)

@pedropod thanks for reporting back. I have not actually loaded this on my 4:3 as I have a personalized splash screen for my stand up arcade which is where my 4:3 monitor is. When I get time I will see if I can easily modify this without recreating the entire video.

@PedroPod I have created two 4:3 versions of the splash video. The first is name 4-3 and has black bars at the top and bottom. The second is named 4:3 full and I simply zoomed the video to be full screen but kept the aspect ratio, this means that the left and right sides of the video are cut off, but i think it still works. Both look good in my opinion so it is user preference. let me know if this works better for you.

@tmntturtlguy They're perfect, thanks so much, I really appreciate you doing that, and so quickly as well. Now my little arcade cabinet is perfect!

@elcaverao I am not sure as I do not run a windows setup, but i assume it is about the same process.

@green_reaper you need to provide more information. I have no idea what you are talking about or what your issue is. Please be more specific and please provide how you set up your system and intro video. Thanks

                                    im on emulation station v2.6.3RP
                                    retropie set up script 4.2.22

i placed the files within the retropie folder/ splashscreen / comicbook splash using cyberduck (the same way i place everything else and no other issues)

and activating via retropie -> splashscreens -> own/extra -> select comicbook splash.

here a youtube link to the issue in action

                                    • sorry about the air conditioner, and audio is loud

on further digging, it seems the emulationstation loading splash is interrupting the comic splash and it goes haywire from there. I've tried putting in code where it won't load until its done. but that causes it to not launch at all after video over and I manually have to start emulationstation.

@green_reaper I am traveling for work so have not had time to respond. This seems to be an isolated issue with your setup. I run the video on 3 different builds and I know several others have successfully used the videos as a loading splash screen. I am sorry but with the info you have provided I am not sure I can help you with your exact issue.

@green_reaper after watching your YouTube video again I think your issue may be your hdmi cable or your monitor. It might sound crazy, but some tv's and monitors and even hdmi don't play friendly with the different video players. I myself have one tv that will not support the audio output for the omx player, but it plays everything else fine. When I use any other tv everything works perfectly. It looks like your monitor is simply losing its signal part way through the video, the timing is such that once the video is done, your monitor picks back up the signal again. Try a different tv or monitor and see how it works. Then try a different hdmi cable.

@green_reaper try disabling overscan on your/boot/config.txt file.
