NesPi Case from Retroflag.com

Did not see a thread about this new Injection Molded case so I thought I would start one.
Homepage here
First saw this on ETA Prime's youtube channel.
They where on sale on Amazon for 19.99 and then the seller jacked up the price substantially and now they are super expensive and impossible to get a hold of.Found this Unboxing/Review of the Case by GreekDragonX.
I wonder if the reset/power buttons can be used in conjunction with the mausberry shutdown script
by @meleu @cyperghost ?So what do you guys/gal's think?
I myself don't like that the ethernet port is in the front. It should be in the back. Maybe a new revision will solve this problem. -
@rion me likey!!
-
I ordered this 2 weeks ago on Amazon. Says it should ship in about 2 to 3 weeks. I'll let you know how it works out.
-
For $20 I'd be all about it. More than that? I dunno. Sadly the same scalper mentality that ruined the NES Classic has taken hold here. :(
-
@hurricanefan do you have a link? I cant find them anywhere.
-
I ordered mine here a couple days back - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073ZC4TZY/ but they are all currently sold out.

Well, they can either keep the price "normal" and at least sell the cases or they can raise the price to ridiculous levels and don't sell any or lot fewer.
Or maybe they can't keep up production with the requested amount so simply raise the price to reduce orders. -
yes that is my video and I would love a script to make the power and reset more safe right now all it does it kill power temporarily for reset and until you hit power again for power button.
-
@nizz8 how much was it?
-
19.99 but no available at that price on amazon right now
-
@edmaul69 yep 19.99 like GreekManX stated.
-
Mine just came in the mail today. It looks pretty good and the working power and reset button is neat.
-
@hurricanefan i'm so jealous!! Looks good
-
@hurricanefan As i mentioned before i wonder if the shutdown button can be used with some modification with the mausberry shutdown script. Any insights into this @pjft , @cyperghost , @meleu ?
-
@rion yes I have: send one of this case for me and I'll give you a clean and efficient way to shutdown your system saving your metadata with no errors. :-)
Just kidding. We have no way to say how to shutdown cleanly with that button if we don't know how it works.
Did you buy it? Are there some specs on the web? When you get yours in hands we can hack it! ;-)
Cheers!
-
@meleu Sadly no. I was late to the party.
Maybe @greekmanx or @HurricaneFan can test them.
Hopefully there will be more of these available soon.
-
@rion what are we testing I am willing to try a script just don't know how to make one but would feel better if one existed the hard shutdown can scare some I am a little iffy on it
-
@greekmanx what do those buttons (power and reset) do? does it need any software installation?
-
@meleu The power button truly kills all power to the device when pressed. The reset button almost looks like you killed power for a second and it reboots the pi.
-
@hurricanefan wow! Quite rough, isn't it?
