      I have been trying to install RetroPie the emulating software on top of the latest CHIP (by NextThingCo)Debian release (DIP support, 3D accl.) but have run into a few issues. There are a few posts already on this topic but couldn't find an answer as most are from before 3D Acceleration was implemented.

      When I try to run ./retropie_setup (using this guide: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroPie-Ubuntu-16.04-LTS-x86-Flavor/) it asks me to specify the architecture. I specified armv7-mali since that seems to be the most similar to the CHIP however the installation fails after a few hours.

      Any insight or experience with this?

      Here is the code I ran ('//' is my comments):

      $ sudo ./retropie_setup.sh
      // in RetroPie folder cloned from github
      Unknown platform - please manually set the __platform variable to one of the following: armv7-mali generic-x11 imx6 odroid-c1 odroid-c2 odroid-xu rpi1 rpi2 rpi3 x86
      // presumably this doesn't show up on a standard expected architecture
      $ __platform=armv7-mali ./retropi_setup.sh
      // this starts the install but ultimately fails
