      I have an old nes that has broken and I have some working cartridges too. I have a working 72-pin connector, and I want to know if I can run the cartridges from the gpio pins. Is there anyway to do this? I have a pi 3 running retropie 4.2.

      N64 emulation is the next step :)

        @CodeDrawer You could try the Retrode, and then take it apart and hook up the cartridge slot to the GPIO pins, but I believe the Retrode doesn't support NES just yet.

          @itsnitro , @CodeDrawer I've read something about it here: www.retrode.org/2014/12/retrode-user-develops-nes-plug-in/

            @meleu @itsnitro Is there a way to connect my cartridge slot to the pi and get it to run? I would like to keep as much a I can original, and I will refurbish it a bit. But I'd still keep as much as I can original. Possibly even the remotes VIA an adapter. Even the metal plates I'll keep. So if there is a way to convert my own current slot to the adapter that would be great. (Also I live outside of the USA, so shipping can be very expensive.)

            N64 emulation is the next step :)
