Is there an option to install them all at once in the script?

Well, you just have to check all the options when you see this screen:
      checklist

When there are more than one option you will see a screen to choose which one you want to install.

      I hope you enjoy. :-)

@meleu Thanks for the heads up. I go through phases in regards to the overlays - at some times I really love them, and at other times I just want the clean look.

I will certainly look into it, though, even if just for fun :)

A question: will your script overwrite any per-rom overlay configuration we may have, or will it back them up and restore them when you remove them?

        Thanks!

When you install an overlay the script adds overlay-related configs to the rom config (if the file doesn't exist, it'll be created). When you uninstall the overlay, it removes only overlay related lines.

@meleu nothing short of spectacular. Well done!

A question, then: is there's already an overlay, will it add a second one on top of it, or replace it?

I'll test it out later anyway, but just curious:) I use overlays for my scanline effects.

              Replace it.

Feedbacks and suggestions about the script is always appreciated. ;-)

                @meleu no need to, I suppose it's a minority use case :)

                Thanks for putting this together!

I've been watching a lot of ROM Hack videos lately. So I want to try some of them.
                  How do I do that?

@itsnitro Get an IPS patcher and download the hack files from Romhacking.net and use the program to apply it to the appropriate rom. I'm note sure what programs are best for IPS patching on windows, im sure somebody here will recommend one.

If you're looking for some good hacks and translations, there are some good threads on this forum. I started this one...

@itsnitro google about "Lunar IPS", pretty simple. And it works just fine with Wine on Linux.

I just had a really fun time playing Sega Ninja on the Arcade.

Hadn't played it, showed up on my random game screensaver and I thought I'd give it a shot.

Highly recommend it if you haven't played it and like games like Commando (the old Capcom one). The key difference is that you have two dedicated shoot buttons - one that shoots where you're facing, as expected, but a second one that always shoots up regardless of where you're moving. You also have a "disappear" skill that briefly makes you, well, disappear meaning that you can't be hit - but also can't hit anyone.

I was pleasantly surprised, especially for a 1985 game.

Seeing as how I've committed myself to completing all the Nintendo Wars games, I'm regularly going to be looking for something to counterbalance the methodical nature of tactical strategy. Last night I found a tough-as-nails vertical shooter on the TurboGrafx-16 called 'Cyber Core'. It's a little bit like the vertical shooting stages found in 'Legendary Wings', as you have both air-to-air and air-to-ground attacks, but the immediate pacing is much more to my liking. Also, everything is bug themed with some really interesting boss and mid boss characters that feel like they're ripped right out of the movie 'Starship Troopers'.
