@DD-Indeed I will make you, and anybody else in a PAL region, a PAL snes folder. You just will need to change the folder name. -
This fixed it, good.
Some quick feedback again: Move the PSP-image a bit more up and the logo of it a bit more down. Currently, the PSP-logo goes on top of the image, so it's not clear to see. Do it like you did with Playstation-image and logo. NES and SNES could be fixed as well.
-
@dd-indeed the console names and images are 2 separate elements that are placed by the xmI can drop the system name logo and see if that fixes it. I can fix it by tweaking the png file of the console, but from this point forward, I won't be tweaking every system individually. The overlap I like and doesn't bother me.
Maybe this is a good time to learn to theme and edit it to your liking. Heck I learned in 3 days pretty much.
Look in the xml for the theme on psp. I know it looks daunting, but there's and entry called "systemlogo" . That's the text logo. Try changing origin to "0.5 1"
And pos ".7 .9"
All that will do is drop the logo to 90% down on the screen and the 1 on origin tells emulation station to render the graphic from the bottom (100% down from the top.
If you put 0 it'll render off screen and start from the top and only show 10%. Get it?
The first number is the x axis. So I'm rendering it 70% right and origin .5 so its centers from that point. 0 is render from left 1 is render from right. Have fun. -
Okay, I'll look into that at some point. Thanks for the info, the theme itself is amazing, so thank you from this.
-
@dd-indeed also you can just the psp picture by editing the "systemsnap.png" entry. Maybe try raising that or changing the "maxsize" the Max size is just the max % you want the picture to take up on screen. so the max x size and max y size. good luck man.

@dd-indeed Hey, as I'm working on my theme, is there any systems that you need that I haven't covered yet?
-
Well 3DO and MS-DOS are ones, that you could add. I'm not currently using those, but I might at some point, so would be good to have them anyway.
-
@dd-indeed ms-dos definitely. My favorite system and i play ms-dos games all the time. 3do would be cool if is was faster than like .000000005 fps. 😄
-
Haha, yea, it's not the most fastest system and so far, the only game I found for it worth to play was The Incredible Machine. I know, you can get it on Amiga or DOS, but since it is the only port of those games for any consoles, it works with controller without any hassle.
-
@dd-indeed controller setup on dosbox is really easy. You can also assign keyboard keys to your controller. I set both player 1 & 2's buttons to the 4 face buttons, put escape on my start button, page up and down on my shoulder buttons and i forget what on my select key. I also setup dosbox to have the same select and start to exit feature as retroarch. All of this is universal to all dos games. So if you want to use the dos version its not too difficult to have running.
-
@edmaul69 you make me want to install some dos games now if you can configure keyboard to controller. Never even bothered to look.
I found a "bug" in the theme thus far. I put the psp logo into the master system folder. I'll upload a fix later today with some new systems as well. I need to learn how to get GitHub up and running so I can easily just upload new changes. Any one want to help me with this? -
@edmaul69 @DD-Indeed
Thank you both for trying and testing the theme.
I started a new thread in the creation forum, as this is no longer an idea. All discussion I'm going to move to that new thread here with the update https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/11794/new-theme-playstation
@edmaul69 i got all your systems done except capcom.
@DD-Indeed ill still make you your PAL SNES theme tomorrow probably. -
Gotcha. And yes, it's propably the best to have proper topic to gain attention and more feedback. We propably could discuss more about PS1-stuff too, since I have a feeling, that you're very interested about that system as well as I am.
-
@dd-indeed lol, you would think I was big into the ps1, as I put so much time and effort into building a pistation one, and then a year later learn and make a whole theme in 10 days. I actually got into the ps1 late because I was a big Nintendo fan in the day. I grew on the nes/snes. Had an n64 on the day it came out. It wasn't until early 1999 when I bought a PlayStation after seeing metal gear solid and had to have it. I never really got that big of a ps1 library. I basically got the best games at the time and enjoyed them none the less.
I just like to tinker and make things. The last pi project I did was a sega genesis hub pi. -
@lostless Interesting, I had SNES as my first console. Then I moved to PS1 in 1998 and into PS2 as 2002 I think. But I also borrowed friend's MegaDrive back in the day. Never got into N64, mainly because I had PS1 already and propably because N64 library wasn't interesting for me. But I like to tinker as well. I recently bought Crystal-edition original Xbox, gonna clean it up and keep it safe, maybe even fool around with it a bit.

@dd-indeed Hey, I added a PAL snes folder for you (and others). Just download from GitHub and just remove the current snes folder and rename the snesPAL to snes.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
