Maybe a theme idea? ... Groovy ...
-
So,
I went through the list of the themes that are currently available over on the Wiki page ... just to get an idea of what folks are making, the look and feel of them, etc.
Sure, the vast majority of themes are "game oriented" - meaning that the over all look and feel is game media, etc. There's a few that are less so....some seem more simple, some more elegant, some more flashy, etc, etc.
I was tossing around some theme ideas and wanted to think a little more "out of the box" per se.
I came up with a potential theme I'm currently calling: Groovy
Here's a quick mockup of the main menu screen. There's still some media I'd probably add to it .. but its a start. No clue as to what the basic, detail, and video views would be at this point.
Just wanted to post it .... grab some feedback, etc.....see what folks thought about it.
It's meant to be a more light-hearted and fun theme for RetroPie. Probably not a theme that'll be used as the persons main theme. But instead one that can be switched over to every and now and then for a change of pace.
I'm thinking the characters inside the van would maybe change per system, something like that. Try to put at least one game character representing that system in there along with who knows who else.

Not my style personally..but to each their own.

@incunabula Yea .. was just playing around in Photoshop ..... trying out some different ideas.
Mocking up some stuff to see what they looked like.
I've got several simple ones, just straight boxed areas, etc. Trying out different design elements on them. Then I've made more complex ones with a lot of things on the screen.
Then I made this one. Splashy colors and such. I can't see Groovy being a permanent theme used .. but maybe every now and then to show friends, etc.
Now that ES has all the new theme features ... that pretty much opened a lot of possibilities. I get tired of the same old theme ..... so I like to switch it up every so often.
