New Project! Best OS For Doom Mods

Hey guys
I want to start a new project..
My goal is to find a way to use gzdoom/doom touch or zandronum..
My question is which distro OS is best?
I know gzdoom works on Linux and on Android So i figured cant i just use a Linux OS and download gzdoom?
Also what about android cant the pi use android OS?
Because there u can get doom touch..
My reason being is theres bunch of mods that i want to play that dont work with zdoom and i mainly use my pi for doom mods..
So using a distro just for doom is not an issue
Its all i play anyway..
So van anyone fill me out on the best wat to begin this project?Thx
