      Hi guys,

I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to fix the problem I'm having. I've wired and set up all the buttons and both joysticks for my bartop build (tested via Windows) but in retropie UP and LEFT on the joysticks will not register.

Retropie says they are 3h dual arcade controllers - I've got it to register player two so that's not a problem

Is there a simple fix for this??

Look forward to hearing your suggestions .

It could be your up/left/down/right buttons are recognized as a dual axis. Did you try the command "jstest" (i'm not sure it's installed by default) on your retropie to see how the output looks when you press up/left/down/right ?

The most common reason for this is that you didn't wire your joystick inputs the right way. It assumes that those two inputs are meant to be in the same axis but in opposite ends (so, it expects those to be "up" and "down" for instance) and as such it will never register those two. You'll probably have the same with down and right, I imagine?

You could also check your ground daisy-chain to make sure they are fully connected from the 1st button to the end button in your chain. Also if you press F4 out of emulation station you can test all your buttons in the command line if you're using a zero delay encoder or something similar.
