I didnt see you already posted the brutal doom info.

I don't think it's going to work. After reading more about the current version of ZDoom, it has some serious issues. Some of which I've already noticed. For example, I have 'Chex Quest 3' installed and the hit detection is so off it's mark that it won't open certain doors because it thinks I'm on the other side. Even funnier, I also take damage from opponents through the doors if I stand close enough to them. I may give it another shot in the future, but for now it's just too bugged to warrant any more time.

@mediamogul that has been discussed in another thread. You need to get retropie 3.8.1 and download zdoom without updating retropie setup. I had the same issue. It is the worst on doom ii on easy. Overwrite your zdoom emu with the old one. I thought there was something seriously wrong with chex 3 as it was the first game i found the issue on. I am glad i keep tons of backed up versions not in image form. I back up my roms folder and my opt folder with every single update i do.

That sounds like it's worth a look. I might try to compile 2.8.0 from their archive.

@mediamogul yeah when i updated to 4.1.12 i thought it was working but the problem is it doesnt effect some games like it does others so i hadnt noticed. But the chex games and doom 2 on easiest setting are the best way to test. doom 2's first level is short short. If you can kill everyone, in the final room (second room really) there is and elevator that has a guy on it that you cant kill if the zdoom is bad. And it takes like 50 tries to get the final door open. But i dont think you can acually press the exit button

It definitely presents an interesting challenge. You're able to interact with things so long as you step back a few paces first. I'm compiling 2.8.0 now. If it works out alright with the 'Chex Quest' games, I'll start looking back to 'Brutal Doom'.

Ah, that's more like it. I played a few levels of CQ1 on 2.8.0 and it behaved perfectly.

Getting it working is one thing, but why do you make me fill out all that paperwork afterwards? Also, Debra from accounting (not from HR) is having a birthday today and we really should send out for a cake.

No missing sound in 2.8.0. However, There wasn't any missing sound for me on 2.8.1 either. Was it all sound or just music? I only tested with the 'Chex Quest' games and they don't have any music.

@mediamogul the other user has no sound at all. But im sure it is something not actually related to zdoom itself
