Chicuelo Theme

@chicuelo Yeah I tried to find the most iconic port but I really didn't know what to choose. Doom guy maybe? Yeah in retrospect, I should probably have gone with that...
No need to thank me, you have done all the hard work ;)

@chicuelo
Hi! I have updated the pull request by changing the "ports" images:The "character" is now Doom Guy. I even added a shadow under his feets to "ground" him :) I hope it's not too bloody?
In case you wish to change it a little, the source of the image is the Doom wikiaThe "controller" has been changed to a Logitech mouse (I just removed the logo). It's a photo (source) but I think it looks fine along the others. What do you think?

@cosmo0
Great! I accepted the pull request and it merged successfully (I think!). The changes are visible now on the repo! -

- the "ports" controller is now a keyboard : it's more easily readable, and integrates better with the other controllers, since it's "up front". The mouse was not "from the front" and it was a little weird.
- there is a now a PSP system :)
I'm pumped up to make some more systems... maybe :D
-
Ah I see what you did : you have merged the pull request in a branch. I'm not sure what you clicked exactly, it's been a while since I worked with pull requests.
Maybe my pull request is wrong (I should have created a branch). If you can't just merge it into "master", let me know and I will create a new (correct) one.

@cosmo0
I used the desktop Github App, and make a pull request, that updated my files and now I can see your changes, I don't know if that's enough and I have to do anything else to complete the pull -
And now I have added a "video" layout for the theme :)
When a video exists for the game, it replaces the game image/screenshot with the video, and replaces the system description with the game marquee (title/logo).

Make sure you are on the "master" branch in the app. If you are, sync the changes in your local copy to the server: https://help.github.com/desktop/guides/contributing-to-projects/syncing-your-branch/#platform-windowsA more simple way to accept a pull request is to go to your repository on github.com, click "pull requests" on top and click "accept" (or whatever the button is called, I don't remember exactly).

I think now its working!
I merged right from GitHub -
@chicuelo Yes I see it on Github now :)
I have successfully updated the theme on my pi, so everything is working :)Thank you :)
I'll try to find some time to add or finish a few systems, to help you a bit, if you don't mind :) -
It would be great!

Where can I download this theme? When I click on github, the link produces an error of 404.

On your retropie box, open the settings page > setup script > configuration/tools > esthemes > go aaaall the way down and install Chicuelo.
Or, if you really want to install it manually, the repository is this one : https://github.com/chicueloarcade/es-theme-Chicuelo

Updated the link! -
Definetly one of the best (if not the best) theme outhere :)
But! Still missing NDS, Atari800, Final Burn Alpha (should be different from MAME) and MSX. Hope those consoles get added soon, keep up the good work!

@chicuelo Hi!
Here are some "characters" for some systems that already have a logo:
- 3DO - Gex
- Amiga - Zool
- Apple II - The Bard's Tale
- Atari 800 - Pitfall
- Atari 5200 - Ms Pac-Man
- Atari 7800 - Joust
- Atari Jaguar - Alien vs Predator
I haven't found any suitable image for the controllers, and I'm not good enough to create one or "vectorize" a photo. I think the missing "character" is the most important to fix, anyway.
The computers (Amiga, Apple II, the Ataris, C64...) didn't have mascots, and most of their games were cross-platform games, or without a "real" character (like shooting or racing games, RPGs...), so it was pretty hard to choose a character.
The characters I chose are not always known today, so it was sometimes difficult to find a good quality image that matches the style of the rest of the pack. Sometimes, it was just hard to find an image at all.
I think some are OK, but some are pretty weird compared to the existing systems. I'm not good enough with Photoshop to make them look better, so I included the PSD files in the zip so you can edit them.

@cosmo0
Great I will take a look tomorrow! -
Commodore Amiga and 3DO on the way!

I thought I would help you, but you're re-making them completely! :D And with reason: your versions are so much better than what I could ever manage :D
Does my work even help you ? :D Maybe it's just giving you ideas ? Would it help you enough if I gave you raw images, ideas, character/game names... ?
I'm amazed, how do you create the controllers ? Do you find good quality pictures, do you create them in 3D, do you draw them... ?
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
