What are you playing?

Going to play Fear Effect 1 and Fear Effect 2 on the PSX. I owned a copy back in the 90ties but I never managed to beat them. After this I probably play the Resident evil series on the PSX.
-
I recently beat Mega Man and Mega Man 2 for the first time ever. The original Mega Man is insanely difficult, and I could not get past the Yellow Devil in the 1st Dr. Wily stage without using the Select/Pause trick.
Mega Man 2 was a little easier, and I can see why it's widely considered one of the best games on the NES.
I now have to continue my way through the series.. I think it goes all the way to 10. This will take a while.

@BenWlson
You can add a spice to your playing using the RetroAchievements feature. There are some cool achievements for all the mega man series. -
@PiDad my favourite multiplayers are Knights of the round and sunset riders

I'm playing Secret of Mana! It's been a good decade since I last played.
I had some atrocious slowdown similar to emulating it on my PSP, but after my canakit power supply came in the mail, the slowdown vanished thanks to no longer using a 2 amp cellphone charger.

I had a mate over for the weekend and we played through the Punisher arcade game on Final Burn Alpha. He loved playing as Nick Fury, smoking a cigar whilst kicking mobster butt.
We tried playing Metal Slug 1 on FBA, but we had some major slowdown when there was a boss onscreen. It was annoying but still playable.
However, the constant slowdown in TMNT and Turtles in Time were so bad as to be unplayable.

I think the SNES version of Turtles in Time is more eye-candy than the arcade one. Unfortunately we don't have infinite coins... :-)

@meleu
I was playing the Turtles games in Final Burn Alpha. I should try them in MAME (after I eventually set up the controls. I'll get around to it some day), but in the mean-time I'll give the SNES version a go. Cheers. -
Played some splatterhouse and shinobi on mame last night.
Bonks adventure on pc-engine:)
-
@dankcushions, Donpachi is awesome. Dodonpachi works for lr-FBA-next. But I cannot get Bee Storm: Dodonpanchi II to work with any cores.
Been playing a lot of Mortal Kombat 1, just waiting patiently for MK2/UMK3 to work if @dankcushions figures out the audio. :)

Had a beat em up night last night
Battle circuit
Sailor moon
Golden axeWill continue this later with:
The punisher
Undercover cops
Cadillacs and dinosaurs :) -
@addyb
Might I suggest you add Alien vs Predator and Armored Warriors (both for FinalBurn Alpha) to that list? They are 2 of my favourites. -
Chrono Trigger for SNES is awesome. I spend a lot of time playing OPENTTD. I love this game.

Yeah I have that setup mate. It's brilliant isn't it? Soo much content.

I'm going to have to get that. I grew up with Bare Knuckle 3 on Mega Drive. I loved it, even though all the text was in a language I couldn't read.

Another good arcade beat 'em up is Metamorphic Force by Konami. Not sure if it runs on the Pi though. Oh, and try the Knights of Valour games by IGS too.
-
I'm having a snes beat em up session tonight.
Have my choice of all these :)
Double dragon
Ninja warriors
Final fight trilogy
Knights of the round
Batman returns
Battle toads
DD & the toads
Xmen
War of the gems
Maximum carnage
Separation anxiety
Captain commando
Turtles in time
Saturday night slam masters -
@addyb I'd stick with the arcade versions of any of those if they had one, apart from Turtles in Time, I think the SNES version is better for that one :)
-
I might do. I just prefer having limited continues on the console ports. Makes me play them properly.
