      Hi

i've got a new Rasperry Pi 3 with a Aukru 3000 mA power supply and a 32 GB Class 10 sandisk SDHC Card. Installed Raspian Release 2017-11-29 with Retropie 4.3. PS 3 Controller runs in BT Mode via Retroarch but I have alot of problems to setup the left analog stick in emualationstation.

Have copied some MAME 0.78 roms to ~/RetroPie/roms/arcade folder and every game starts, but for instance games like alien3 or robocop didn't work like they should. I tried to setup the left analog stick directions with the mame in retroarch [input general, input this game] tool. When I start the game , forward direction of the game figure works well but if I go backwards, the game figure crawls and starts to fire his gun or beats ? It seems that the analog backwards direction is coupled with an action button. How and where can I set this right ?

I don't understand if the wrong settings come from Mame in game retroarch or from Retropie Retroarch tool ? I don't understand the context between Retropies internale Configuration , Retroarch and MAME in game retroarch tool. Three different tools to setup the PS3 Controller. who can help me ? Want to play this good old arcade games without controlling issues.

      thanks in advance
      Frank
