I've been working on a small sized controller that can be reproduced easily. The parts are mostly 3D printed and laser cut components, but made really strong by filling with resin.

Today I received my Pi 3 and finished mounting it to the frame with a custom bracket I made. These screws are tiny! #1 size 3/8-inch long: https://www.instagram.com/p/BF-Rqfnyg_P/

The frame is open and easily serviceable with 8 screws holding it together at the corners. I don't have any overview photos with the Pi 3, but here's what it looked like with the Pi 1 a few days ago:

The top is made up of 1/8inch acrlic (painted black) on top of 1/4inch MDF that were both laser cut. The acrylic is mainly for hiding the joystick screws but it also provides some stiffness

Can't wait to finish wiring and and see what this new Pi can do!

I've uploaded some of the design files here: http://www.cuddleburrito.com/diyarcade

@cuddleburrito this looks fantastic! The skull joystick is a great feature, goes so well with the black scheme.

Altough I've seen you on the forums before, for some reason it never occurred to me that your also associated to the site. I almost purchased something recently but didn't as I live outside of the United States.

Really like how your designs are classy and not overpriced. Awesome work on your custom balltops too.

Thank you Redstoner and Pifan! Making ball tops was a long but satisfying learning process.

@batman Thanks for saying hi :) I've had difficulty shipping internationally in the past, however last week I learned that padded envelopes under 4lbs are much less expensive to ship. Although assembled frames are out of the question smaller DIY frames could be possible but I haven't tried it yet. Email me cuddleburrito @ gmail and we can play with numbers to see what they would be.

I was thinking about multiplayer, and the easiest would be to connect a second controller to the RPi's USB port. I've got so many questions regarding simultaneous button presses across GPIO and arduino emulated keyboards. I'll report back with my experiments.
