Also it seems that it overwrites the MAME/FBA configuration files done by the excellent @dankcushions 's project here
Is there a chance that we can merge the two cfg?
An example:- the Bezel Project 3countb.cfg contents:
input_overlay = "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/overlay/ArcadeBezels/3countb.cfg"
- the overwritten 3countb.cfg from @dankcushions project contents:
# Place in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/config/MAME 2003/ video_shader_enable = "true" video_shader = "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/shaders/crt-pi.glslp" # To avoid horizontal rainbow artefacts, use integer scaling for the width aspect_ratio_index = "22" custom_viewport_width = "1600" custom_viewport_height = "1080" custom_viewport_x = "160" custom_viewport_y = "0"
Can we somehow merge those 2 files into one retaining both functionalities?
# Place in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/config/MAME 2003/ video_shader_enable = "true" video_shader = "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/shaders/crt-pi.glslp" # To avoid horizontal rainbow artefacts, use integer scaling for the width aspect_ratio_index = "22" custom_viewport_width = "1600" custom_viewport_height = "1080" custom_viewport_x = "160" custom_viewport_y = "0" input_overlay = "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/overlay/ArcadeBezels/3countb.cfg"

Not sure if creating a universal overlay/bezel pack installer is the best option for anybody.
I don't think there's a "one fits all" solution.
There are many parameters to be considered: actual screen resolution, screen ratio, actual core screen resolution, "border only" bezels, "full original artwork" bezel, realistic bezels, shaders, integer scale, customised scale.
Ideally people should be able to decide what options and single bezels they'd like and, most likely, the install tool should also be able to nicely rescale the actual images to fit (or already have all variations related images available).@meleu 's script is my choice: easy to use and effective (and doesn't mess up you CFGs).

Hi guys! This thread was found and sent to me so wanted to jump in. I'm part of the Bezel Project team and hope you guys are enjoying them! I wanted to respond to some of the comments here to help clear it up. Firstly the comment from someone saying that it's not recommended to I stall the bezel script, I very much disagree, otherwise we wouldn't be spending so much time making them 😃.
The overlays that are included with that other install script ... the PNG bezels are different.
It’s compensating and changing the actual video size to fit their PNG files....our PNG bezels are different. With so many TV resolutions, emulator resolutions, etc....there will never be a 100% method for overlays.
The only true way is for each person to individually adjust their RetroArch setup for each system themselves.
So, the bezel project is kept generic (no additional adjustments in the config files)....to try and globally fit as best it can.
Any questions at all let us know. We're working hard on PlayStation now and can't wait to show them to you guys, I'm sure you'll love them!

@coin-junkie Couldn't find a way to contact directly so hoping ok through this older thread... how do you disable/uninstall The Bezel Project?
I have it, but system being put into a cab with a 4:3 Samsung 204B monitor so, being 4:3 I have no real need for bezels.
Searched around, and I found a way to manually disable one-by-one, but to save space I'd like to be able to uninstall it and wipe it off the SD card.

@UDb23 you can adjust the screen ratio etc, but the Bezel Project will install a custom bezel we made for every game, small adjustments can be made to suit your screen after they are installed. You should give it a shot! We've worked very hard making thousands of them and are very proud of them

Hi! What kind of adjustments are needed? I also have a 4:3 screen (native res. 1600x1200) and I would like to try your bezels.

@Coin-Junkie I'm loving the bezels. Just one problem. I've installed every set without issue except for Megadrive. I can see it has copied the png and cfg files to the Megadrive folder, but it always says "not installed" in the Bezel Pack Downloader menu. All the others are fine. When I launch a megadrive game, e.g. Sonic the hedgehog, it shows the bezel from the Mastersystem and not the Megadrive. Suspect this could have something to do with the not installed status of Megadrive?
Help! But more importantly, keep up the great work. -

Hey guys!
Due to different spelling I still have some games without overlays. So I edited the config files manually and found something.
SNES REPO
Game: Godzilla - Kaijuu Daikessen (Japan)
Issue: Missing overlay and mixed spelling
Desc: The file is in the config folder of the SNES repo but if you take a look inside it points to the CFG in the SFC overlay folder. The game name spelling is also different (Godzilla/Gojira). The problem is... there is neither in the SNES repo nor in the SFC a Godzilla/Gojira PNG or CFG in the overlay folder.Game: Assault Suits Valken (Japan)
Issue: Missing overlay
Desc: Same as Godzilla - Kaijuu Daikessen (Japan)Game: Super Boss Gaiden
Issue: completely missing
