Classic arcade games
-
Hello!
For my arcade manager, I provide pre-built lists of games, notably "classics". I have searched the web for lists of classics games, but I'm sure many people here will be able to help me correct and expand my lists :)
My lists should help people new to the wonderful world of arcade to wade through the 4000 games MAME offers, and have a much more manageable game list in their Retropie.
I want to build two lists : one "lite" with about 50 games (the "true" classics), and one "full" with between 200 and 300 games (a bit more permissive with the criterias).Lite version: https://github.com/cosmo0/arcade-manager-data/blob/master/csv/best/classics-all-lite.csv
Full version: https://github.com/cosmo0/arcade-manager-data/blob/master/csv/best/classics-all.csvWhat I'm looking for, for the purpose of my lists:
- I want groundbreaking and innovating games (by game type, technology or gameplay element), even if they were not successful (and thus not very well known today), or not very fun by today's standards.
- I want the most popular games, even if they have almost nothing innovative, and are "just" fun.
- I do not want "hidden gems", since by definition, they are not classics. I might do another list including them.
- I'd rather not have games for which the home console version is better known than the arcade one.
The game should also run on a Raspberry Pi 3 without overclocking and without doing special things. So 3D games are, sadly, out of the picture.
Lastly, it should be playable with a gamepad, either old-school (like a SNES pad) or modern (like a Playstation or Xbox pad, with analog sticks). So, no lightgun games, and no weird control schemes.

Thanks for your help :)

At a first glance:
- The King of Dragons
- Knights of Round
- Gunbird
- Tapper (added recently I think in mame2003-plus), not sure if a classic, but an interesting mechanic game
Bobble-Bubble (?)it's in the full list.

Thanks! I'll add them to the full list :)
Tapper is actually in the full list, but as "rbtapper", because I couldn't make "tapper" work. Since then, there is mame2003-plus, so I'll replace it with "tapper".

Other entries:
- Armored Warriors
- Mystic Riders
- Sky Kid

Mortal Kombat the original arcade version
Would suggest Sega’s AM2 games.... but I haven’t gotten any to run very well at all on the pi3. -

Mortal Kombat the original arcade version
The first MK is in the "all" list alongside the 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
In the "lite" version I only kept the 3 (and 4, because it's the only one that works on FBA), because I saw that it was the "best" version. Maybe I'm wrong?Would suggest Sega’s AM2 games.... but I haven’t gotten any to run very well at all on the pi3.
The runnable ones are almost all there: Space Harrier, Hang On, OutRun, After Burner, etc.
The Model 1 games and later are too slow and buggy, or don't even work. -
Blockout?
