I've got some great ideas to put my spin on it like....in place of the '000' at the beginning of a title, place the consoles relevant gamepad there in the same yellow/orange gradient.
Since you want to use plain text as carousel, you can't have images.
If you want to place the images separately or directly on the background image, they will probably be out of order because you can't detect what system someone is using. Like it was with the indicator images on chicuelo's theme. So it would only be viable for your personal setup. Or you have to create images with the controller and text and use those as carousel.Edit: The only other option is to have the controller image appear only for the selected system.

Edit: One last question for today: Why is image name="background" not available in system view? Seems weird to define an extra background image if I want to change it all views simultaneously.
Not entirely sure, but I would guess that it was done this way to allow for system specific backgrounds and allow them to use animated transitions.

@paffley the PR has been merged.

Hi @EctoOne , yeh I was meaning more for the basic/detailed/video view and not the system view.

Thanks for the font @Stuart2773 I'll have a play...

@jdrassa not for now but one for the future - how easy/hard would it be to add a stroke/outline to the text tag and possibly a gradient? I'm currently looking at how its done in attract mode.

Hmm ok, to me I would make more sense if it was the other was around. Have one global background and every system gets an extra one. Especially since system specific backgrounds had to be set in system/theme.xml originally and not by using variables. But whatever, I was just courious and confused when my system background wasn't changing when I only had
image="background"
withoutextra="true="
.@paffley Ah I thought you wanted the controller images on system view as well.

<text>${system.fullName}</text>
@jdrassa <text>${system.fullName}</text> works perfect on pi, thanks!

Thanks @skj …..I'm still working on it, got a few tweaks to make on it until i'm satisfied with it, I don't want to release something then make a thousand adjustments on it + it will only work with emu-dev installed at the moment until its been merged to the public ver. I'll create a separate post for it when its released as I work most days and doing this in my spare time. Keep popping back :)
