Note I am using the nl mirrors - you could use a mirror closer to you. I switched from the GB mirrors as they were being problematic for me.

@renario910 said in Retropie on ubuntu is broken.:

Oh an btw it gives the same error if i type something instead of xmlstartlet. Maybe the thing in github is misspelled?

It's xmlstarlet not xmlstartlet - although you spell it correctly in the original post.

@renario910 No, the lines @buzz has pasted are for the 18.04 version of Ubuntu, not for 16.04. Which one do you have installed right now ?

@renario910 No, you open the file @BuZz indicated (/etc/apt/sources.list) with a text editor and replace the contents of the file with the text indicated.

@mitu yes, but after that he aslo said "or use this one", which got me confused. I also didn't understood a single word under the black box with text.

@BuZz it gives me an error while trying to save:
"Could not save the file "/etc/apt/sources.list"."
You do not have the permissions necessary to save the file. Please check that you typed the location correctly and try again.

                      (the file is read only)

from a terminal, type sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list

but i think it's also important to familiarize yourself with some basic unix/linux concepts, since this is turning into more of an Ubuntu support thread.
