NES Messen emulator core possible?

This emulator is capable of loading high res textures and music for NES games. There are already patches for Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden I and II, and Metroid. It can load music in .ogg file format

Sure, it might work, since it's a libretro core, but it would only be usable on a PC. I think it would run too slow on a SBC/Raspberry Pi.
