@ddoherty958 Compare the md5sum checksum on the download page to the checksum of the file. (Just search the web how to do that, there should be plenty of sites explaning it.) Continue only if both checksums are the same.

The error code is: unexpected end of data.

@ddoherty958 It extracts fine here with winrar. Im using chrome on my pc. Try a download manager that can resume downloads. Or try a torrent.

I tried again with 7Zip and got no error codes, bu on first boot it went straight to command prompt! I'll try a few things and get back to you.

You say you are using the official power cable? Do you mean power supply? I suspect your pi may be underpowered if your dc power block isn't supplying enough current to it. I'm not sure what the required/recommended amperage is, but it wouldn't hurt to have at least 2.0 A going into your power cable to the pi...

The recommended amount is about 2.5A and I just went on PIsupply.com and typed in raspberry pi power lead. The block seems to be fine, I havn't had any issues with the power, just everything else ;)

@ddoherty958 On first boot, the image will resize the installation file system to fill the disk on the card, then reboot. You need to have a little patience and wait for it to finish the operation, then - after the reboot - you'll be presented with the Emulationstation screen.

Yes, I just rebooted it and it loaded up fine. Fingers crossed it works this time!
