@pisces3988 said in Game launching video loading screens:
ls $HOME/RetroPie/videoloadingscreens
The command is
ls $HOME/RetroPie/videoloadingscreens
not
pi@pie4~ $ ls $HOME/RetroPie/videoloadingscreens
-
-
@pisces3988 What is the output of the command ?
-
The output of the command is default.mp4
I know yesterday I told you that it said mame.mp4 but someone else told me to change it
to default.mp4 -
@pisces3988 OK, in this case - is the video playing or you still get the 'file not found' error ?
-
I still get the file not found error
-
Can you post the output of the command
cat /dev/shm/runcommand.log
Run the game like normal, then exit the game. From SSH (or a command line), type the command above and post the output.
-
This is the output that I got
/opt/retropie/configs/all/runcommand-onstart.sh: line 7: /home/pi/RetroPie/videoloadingscreens/: Is a directory
Parameters:
Exexcuting: /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-mame2003/mame2003_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/mame-libretro/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-libretro/1941j.zip" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfgThat's the output that I got.
-
The error in the log file indicates you've got an error in the
/opt/retropie/configs/all/runcommand-onstart.sh
, which should contain the commands explained in the topic starter.Review the file and make sure all commands are correct, you capitalized the paths correctly, didn't add any extra spaces. You can upload the file - as is - to pastebin.com to check if there's anything wrong there.
-
you mean this file I just typed?
/opt/retropie/configs/all/runcommand-onstart.sh: line 7: /home/pi/RetroPie/videoloadingscreens/: Is a directory
Parameters:
Exexcuting: /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-mame2003/mame2003_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/mame-libretro/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-libretro/1941j.zip" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg -
@pisces3988 I mean
/opt/retropie/configs/all/runcommand-onstart.sh
. -
Well, I see a red line through retropie and a red line through runcommand-onstart.sh those are the only mistakes that I see.
-
Where do I go on from here???
-
@pisces3988 What red lines? The
runcommand-onstart.sh
is just a plain text file that should't have any colour codes or the like. How do you display the file on your machine? However, I think you really should upload your
runcommand-onstart.sh
to https://pastebin.com/ like @mitu suggested before. It's very hard for us to tell if or what is wrong with it just from your own descriptions. -
Well the other person earlier to me to use a different command on the terminal, then they told me to use pastebin to check for errors that's what happened.
The command the other person told me is
cat /dev/shm/runcommand.log
Do you know how to guide me with this command?
-

I told you to check for any differences in your
runcommand-onstart.sh
file to the commands posted in the topic starter, not to use pastebin.com to check for errors. Thecat /dev/shm/runcommand.logs
showed you have some errors in the.sh
file. As @Clyde said - and I also suggested in my previous post - upload the file to pastebin.com so we could see what it contains exactly. -
@pisces3988 In addition to what @mitu said, if your
/opt/retropie/configs/all/runcommand-onstart.sh
isn't longer than the 16 lines the instructions told you to add to this file, you could just post its contents here in a code block instead of uploading it to pastebin.com.This is a code block. You cane make one by clicking on the button named "code" with the symbol </> in the forum's editor.
Just in the case that you have problems with the upload to pastebin.com. We only need to see the contents of your
runcommand-onstart.sh
in some way. -
Can you explain how to use code block???
-
Is this the runcommand-onstart.sh your talking about to upload to pastebin, This is the one I uploaded to pastebin
