@noproblem1234 Here is the one I purchased from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IACID2C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_detailpage_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Have not had any issues so far.
-
@HurricaneFan That was my concern when I installed it, but surprisingly, not an issue. I have played Centipede, Crystal Castle, and some bowling games and so far it no issues. I want to get Golden Tee on here as well and that may cause some issue, as tend to use the trackball hard when going up, but with bowling I do the same and takes a little adjustment, but works well, IMHO.
-
@ByteThis Yea...I have one ordered from Arcade 1UP, as mine does show a little wear.
-
Hey, May I ask what theme you are using?
-
@Cyborgbob Nostalgic theme
-
Thanks so much

@TheRealSmilebit
Thanks for the link, that adaptor seems to work fine my track ballfyi for others. right now the one in the following link seems to have issues with retropie: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B008DFVQFW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Again this might be fixable in software later on, or it might be that I got a dud I don't know, but if your track ball seems to work with windows but not retropie you may not be totally crazy
-
Can you post a link for the trackball that you used?
-
@noproblem1234 thank you for this - i bought this adapter and can not get it to work - https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B000JPCAL8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
will try the monoprice one and hope it works
did it work right out of the box or did you guys have to change any settings ?
-
@TheRealSmilebit thanks for this - did that adapter work right out of the box or did you need to do some configuring ?
-
@TheRealSmilebit just wanted to say thanks again for giving this link to the adapter - i ordered the same one from amazon canada and it works !!
-
@StarsIntoDreams Here is the trackball:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075JH3S54/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Will also need this adaptor:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IACID2C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_detailpage_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1If you do this, make sure you buy the adaptor above. Some adaptors will not work.
-
@pumpkinpie Yes...worked right out of the box.
-
@pumpkinpie No problem...glad it worked out.
-
@TheRealSmilebit the more I look at your project pics, the more I want one of those Arcade1Up cabs. Very nicely done!
-
@TheRealSmilebit interesting! What kind of dremel router bit did you use to drill the square hole for the trackball? I’d like to do install a trackball on my controller panel, but ist is so thin, I don’t want to mess it up.
Thanks
-
Have you been able to use spinner & trackball at the same time? or do you need to change the mouse index in game each time??
-
@jero123 Just a router bit. Not sure if there is any particular size for the Dremel...think it is just called a router bit. And yes...have to be carefully. I try only route out a 1/4" of an inch to make sure there is enough to hold it in place...just if you decide to do it, get some scrap wood and practice on it before doing on your control panel.
-
@ESMITH1120 No have to change the mouse index. Retroarch sometimes does not save, so have to manually edit the config file for the roms that use the spinner. The trackball is set to index 0, so that is the default. However any game that needs the spinner, which is index 2, I have to edit the config file. But only have to edit once and the setting stay.
-
@TheRealSmilebit Ok, and just one more question, what holesaw size did you use for the trackball? (2 1/8 inch?)
Thanks!
