Yet Another Pi Zero Portable!!
-
@moosepr I haven't got a switch at the moment so for the time being I'll just twist the wire together, I've done the raspi-configuration step but couldn't find where to enable device tree, any ideas?
-
@gazredtyke I think there was one item i couldnt find myself, If you try the next step anyway, see how you get on
-
@moosepr I tried the next step but got an error message
-
@gazredtyke whats the error? it could be that i have done a typo :P
-
@moosepr can't remember, I'll have to try again when I get in from work
-
@gazredtyke try this command instead
sudo modprobe fbtft_device name=adafruit22
-
@moosepr would it be adafruit28 as my tft is 2.8"?
-
@gazredtyke I think it will be the 22. i cant see a 2.8 device listed on the driver wiki, in theory the 2.2, 2.4, and 2.8 inch screens are all identically internally, they just have different sized pixels
-
@moosepr The error message is "could not insert 'fbtft_device' : Invalid argument'
-
@gazredtyke I will have to get mine hooked up to a keyboard and see what I typed to get it going, it's been a while...
-
@gazredtyke try
sudo modprobe fbtft_device name=fb_ili9340
-
@moosepr still getting the same error mate, as I say though I couldn't find how to enable device tree
-
@gazredtyke I have just looked on mine and i dont think i could find the device tree bit, i sure cant now!! have you enabled the SPI?
-
@moosepr can you show a diagram of which gpio pin layout you followed? Maybe that's the issue?
-
@gazredtyke the error seems to suggest that it doest like the options being passed into the fbtft device call. my command scroll back doesnt go far enough back to see my initial testing bits. I need to go back to a fresh install of retropie and follow it all from the beginning.
If my new 2.2" screens ever come from china, i will be setting up another pi and will detail the lot
-
@moosepr could you show the gpio layout? I seem to have 2 different ones 😮
-
@gazredtyke im pretty sure that i used
Display - Raspberry Pi
BL - pin 12
SCK - pin 23
MISO - pin 21
MOSI - pin 19
CS - pin 24
RST - pin 22
D/C - pin 18
VIN - pin 17
GND - pin 20 -
@moosepr I've got the same with the exception I don't have anything on miso as that one is for the sd card isn't it?
-
@gazredtyke that is what it said in the original link I sent you, but I'm pretty sure I linked the pin on my screen. I squashed the wires so it's hard to follow which is which, but I do seem to remember filling most of that block of pins on the pi
-
@moosepr so maybe if I wire the miso to the pi?
