i was trying to compile lr-mame with lr-mame.sh code in retropie ...
But compile its too slow (more 24 hours and only 33% files compiled). Mine is raspberry pi3b+ and i have success previosly compiling lr-mame2016
      How could i compile lr-mame?

It's normal, the PI is not powerful enough to compile it faster. Why do you want to install lr-mame ?

Aren't you already doing that ? You just install it from source from the RetroPie-Setup script - there is no pre-compiled option in RetroPie.

@mitu And lr-mame2016 was compiled in 4 hours aproximately ... where is difference from lr-mame to compile in biggest time?

I have tried to compile but i cancel it after 32 hours and only was at 30% of compile ... I was asking for advice to compile it as quick as lr-mame2016 was in 5 hours... I dont understand why there is this bigger time difference from lr-mame2016 to lr-mame ... Only remember that lr-mame is v205 and lr-mame2016 is v174

Except if the games you want aren't supported, maybe consider using lr-fbalpha instead, it uses latest dump, and should be fairly faster than latest mame.

You can, but you'll need a Linux installation to cross-compile and it's not that straightforward. See this topic on how you can do this from a RetroPie PC installation.

Actually you might be able to use http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/linux/armv7-neon-hf/latest/mame_libretro.so.zip

Don't bother trying to build it then, most likely you'll get the same result. Anyway i don't really understand why you want to run latest mame on a rpi3 : fba would be a much safer choice to run those games with latest fixes and dumps, and there are maybe 20 games that will run full speed with latest mame on a rpi3 and aren't supported by fba (a few american oldies ? sega system32 ?).

lr-fbalpha is already available as an optional package and you can install it from binary. For a list of games that it supports - look the in the Dat file distributed with the installation or directly on the projects's page - https://github.com/libretro/fbalpha/tree/master/dats.
Note that you'll need the corresponding ROM set - but as @barbudreadmon said you can start from the current MAME set and validate/rebuild the ROMs with the DAT files provided.

If the status column for the game in https://raw.githubusercontent.com/libretro/fbalpha/master/gamelist.txt is empty, then the game is supposed to work. There might be issues with a few games with empty status column, report them on github if you want them fixed.

                                    Latest FBA ROMset is 2.97.44

You should use this EXACT ROMset for FBA to fully work, though the docs link suggest 2.97.43 should also work as its only minor code changes and a few minor ROM updates and 2.97.43 is a lot easier to find and download. Took me about 10 minutes to find a 2.97.44 ROMset

Can't help with searching that as its against forum rules and linking to ANY ROMs may lead to a ban
