@mitu fixed it :-)
I had to create a /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf file to hack the integrated intel card with the details below.
Section "Device"
Identifier "Intel Graphics"
Driver "intel"
Option "DRI" "2"
Option "TearFree" "true"
Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
EndSectionNow both Dreamcast & Naomi run vi lr-reicast
BOOM!
Hopefully this helps others.

@Stuart2773 Remove
naomi_boot.bin
, it is deprecated and i'm not 100% sure it won't cause conflicts -
@shavecat
I do not know at this point, from what I can depend
maybe it's a hash not recognized by lr-reicast.
have you tried lr-reicast with a rom that is not gdi? -
@hermit
crap
yes :\ -

We don't check hashes in lr-reicast

Here's my Dreamcast compatibility list for RPI3B+
arm_freq=1500
640x480 resolution+ Silver, I only played it for so long, worked fine, might want to adjust the resolution.
+ Skies of Arcadia, I dont know about 2 disc games theres probably a solution.
+ Marvel vs Capcom 2
+ Time Stalkers
+ Jet Grind Radio, can be slow when your getting teargassed.
+ Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
+ Sonic Adventure, playable
+ Sonic Adventure 2, There might be some slowdowns
+ Capcom vs SNK 2000
+ Prince of Persia, I've never gotten into this game.
+ Street Fighter
- Omikron the nomad soul, I couldnt get it to start.
- Halflife, this is one of those windows ce games.
- Deadly Skies, This one worked surprisingly but had most slowdowns in the middle of the action, I didn't try it in 50hz mode.
- Dragon Riders Chronicles of Pern, unfortunately this game starts but I cant get past the load screens, maybe it works in the update, probably no.
- + Resident Evil Code Veronica, I think this one was too slow, I didn't try hard enough.
- Blue Submarine No. 6, Freezes after the first FMV.
- Elemental Gimmick Gear, WinCE.
- DvineLuv, low fps, It was way too slow.
- Evil Twin, emulator would always crash after loading the first level.
? Soul Calibur, I read that it is playable, I kind of doubt the FPS are satisfying.
- Gauntlet Legends, I guess it's playable, sort of annoying frameskip, better alternative to play on MAME or Playstation
+ Industrial Spy, works with some minor graphic anomalies. -
Got various Naomi/atomiswave games working so far, thanks everyone! So far the one that has played the best is guilty gear x 1.5 and I am probably going to add that to my bartop! A lot of the other games are a step too slow for me, which means that some can be fun on my console rpi, like toy fighter and dolphin blue but not quite great enough I feel comfortable adding to my bartop which I really don’t want any hiccups / sound cracking on for any game. But still an amazing accomplishment for you all that we can get some level of playability for Sega Naomi games on a little rpi 3b+! Btw does anyone get a bunch of all black segments while running metal slug 6? The game was running pretty good but then I was getting portions of the stage going black.
-
@Efriim I couldn't honestly say, but you should get better performance than the Pi for sure.
I'm running this on a LattePanda Alpha, so more modern chipsets.
My suggestion since Batocera runs Dreamcast/Naomi etc now is to boot off that via USB as a quick test.
If Batocera works, then your custom Retropie should be better :-)I use Retrpopie to have more control & it allows me to easily add emulators like the Sega Model 3.
Note: I'm running Ubuntu 18.10 with latest stable Mesa drivers.

Already mentioned above, this one needs "div matching" set to auto.

crap
yes :\have you tried to reset the retroarch-core-options.cfg settings?
with some settings of the bios it is also reset to me -
@dmanlfc Retropie is a lot more versatile having raspbian underneath it all, I learned quite a bit from all the script modules and I'm kind of getting used to them, plus the support and active community. I liked batocera but I'd probably run into a dead-end when I want to customize anything, a USB boot is a good idea I think I can figure that out, I should unplug my harddrive just in case it wants to install though.
I haven't used ubuntu in ages (I still have Ubuntu 8.04 LTR on dvd and 7.10 on CD from when they would send you them for free) I think I may end up going with that. Except the newer version.

@hermit
I try to remove all dreamcast folder (uninstall it) and install again .

didnt help :\by uninstalling lr-reicast, these settings are not reset
the file in question is in the path /opt/retropie/config/all/
make a backup first -
@barbudreadmon ah thank you very much for replying again- it seemed vaguely familiar but when I had tried to scroll through I didn’t see the post sorry.

@hermit
try it but still no :\ -
Just tested Pro Pinball - Trilogy
but it crashes with lr-recaistand standalone the ball is invisible.Edit:
I messed with some settings and it looks like I have it working with lr-recaist. I'll have to turn them on one by one to see which one fixed it.So it looks like DIV matching has to be disabled otherwise the game will freeze with lr-recaist. Another weird thing I noticed is when you see the production studio logos at the start of the game, You have to press start right away, if you press "a" or press nothing the game loads to a black screen and nothing happens and the game has to be reset.

try it but still no :\I noticed that lr-reicast has a different function for savegames. maybe it can not write on your HD.
try setting everything to SD -
@hermit
No still not :
dont get why it worked on the start and now not.
that is right also :\ weirdlr-reicast = "/opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-reicast/reicast_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/dreamcast/retroarch.cfg %ROM% </dev/null"

so at the beginning it worked and then stopped?
maybe you have a version of the bios incompatible with lr-reicast
I use :
dc_boot.bin md5=e10c53c2f8b90bab96ead2d368858623
dc_flash.bin md5=0a93f7940c455905bea6e392dfde92a4 -
@hermit
thanks ,
but still not :\
i give up...
