        @BuZz said in Retropie 4.5:

        I will be looking at sorting retroarch update this week.

        I tested some modifications here to get the new version building - might be useful.

          @mitu Looks like there a some issues with the gl core and widgets. 1-7-7 stable some issues

          Edit:

          Menu widgets and overlays

          On latest nightly, saving state crashes Retroarch

            @Rion Yes, there have been a few issues post 1.7.7, but I'm more interested in this issue which affects ARM systems. The GL Core video driver would be enabled only on x86, so the issue might pop-up there.

            EDIT: Looks like the overlay + menu widgets has been reproduced and logged (#8718).

              @BuZz How come? would it be as simple as pointing to the link to download? Others have confirmed it works on Pi.

                Yea 1.7.7 seems really buggy on all systems not ideal for a stable release but these things happen

                  I may hold off on incorporating 1.7.7. libretro team referred to it as an alpha so maybe best to wait until some of the issues have been ironed out.

                    @BuZz indeed the libretro folks are ditching 1.7.7 and is best to wait for a more stable release.

                    I turned on the release cycle again
                    there is a very crucial bugfix for WiiU - it had the propensity to crash on start before

                    There are also numerous reports of crashes and issues with 1.7.7. I guess it was rushed.

                        Hi,

                        Any news on adding sound support to the system view carousel and grid view in the 2.5 update?

                        I heard in a post that the sound tags was going to be overhauled?

                        Thanks in advance, love retropie!!!!
