DS Emulation Drastic vs Desmume

it's amazing how well Drastic runs compared to Desmume, why is that? could Desmume ever run as well as Drastic?

@tobas i think desmume is LLE while drastic is HLE (http://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/High/Low_level_emulation)
