tvservicefor resolution switching is not recommended anymore for the Pi4, due to the change in the GPU driver stack. Most likely any setups relying on it for dynamic resolution switching will encounter problems. -

I think the only way is to have something like:
CEA for emulationstation and DMT for retroarch. I can't figure out any other way :/
