Using the Runcommand Menu to generate a favourites list?

I do not even pretend to understand the ins and outs of how Retropie works and the Runcommand function, but while playing on one of my bartop arcade machines i was re-assigining some roms to different emulators and thought.....
If there was an option within the Runcommand menu at the start of the game to "Add to Favourites folder"?
The rom itself and the emulator 'link' would remain the same, but the Title / Metadata would be added to a 'list' that would appear in the main menu system of retropie.
So you would end up with multiple games from multiple systems all in one folder for you to choose your favourites.
Is it even possible?

Do you mean a Favorites list in EmulationStation? Just like the different system sections?
