It looks like 3rd party support for the Steam controller is making good progress:

Is there any chance to integrate this into RetroPie?

I have been dying to try this controller, but don't have a lot of interest in Steam. If the RetroPie team chose to integrate this as an optional install, the GTK3 GUI almost certainly wouldn't make the cut. Even if they don't choose to integrate it directly, installation of the driver should be pretty easy. Either way, this looks to be an extremely promising option for anyone looking to use this controller. Thanks for the link. I'm kind of excited about trying this now.
